It’s a Great Weekend to be a Marauder!

Feel like sporting some maroon and pumping up your school spirit? Well, this is the perfect weekend for it! While our Men’s and Women’s Basketball teams are heading to Thunder Bay to take on Lakehead, here at DBAC we’ve got our Men’s and Women’s Volleyball teams playing both Friday and Saturday, and a Women’s Flag Football tournament all day Saturday.
But first comes first – you've probably noticed the table by JBSD selling some delicious cupcakes, cozy mittens and pink shoelaces. It’s Dig for the Cure time at McMaster, with our volleyball teams helping out in the school’s ongoing support of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. It’s a perfect way for us to show our pride for two of Mac’s great teams, get our cheer on, and support a good cause. So come on out, bring those noise-makers, and get a little Maroon!
And some more great news – the Willy Dog stand by Gilmour Hall has offered to help out with Dig for the Cure, so this FRIDAY, January 20, they’re selling their culinary masterpieces for a whopping $1 off of regular price, or you can pay regular price and send one dollar of the cost toward the Breast Cancer Foundation - as if we needed another excuse to get a Willy Dog.
To round the weekend out, why not grab a nice warm drink and spend a relaxing hour or so watching the Women’s Football teams show their skills at their first tournament this Saturday. The games run from 8 to 4, with playoffs in the afternoon. Come on out and support our women as they battle it out in the cold!

Well, it’s another big weekend here at Mac, with plenty of opportunities for you to show your school pride. We’ve all got the perfect excuses to deck ourselves in Maroon, buy some pink shoe laces and, of course, grab ourselves a Willy Dog (or two). As always, don’t forget to hit up the Pulse – the weekend is a great time to put in that workout you’ve been thinking about.

See you this weekend! #GOMACGO
